BY ROYAL DECREE AND LETTERS PATENT, the Crown establishes the Office of the Royal Arbiter of Bells, empowered to regulate, tune, and authorize all bell-related activities within the Kingdom.

The Arbiter shall:

  • Approve public bell installations
  • Maintain harmony among the town criers
  • Resolve disputes involving excessive clanging

This post shall be held in perpetuity or until such time as the Arbiter’s hearing becomes unreliable.All bell-users must seek licensing forthwith.

Regarding the Issuance of Citizenship Documents
All persons recognized as Citizens of Eyehasseen shall be provided with a certificate of citizenship bearing the Royal Seal. Any individual found to be in possession of a forged or false certificate shall be subject to investigation and potential exile.
Subjects are urged to report suspected forgeries to their nearest civic authority.


BY ORDER OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS KING EDMUND:

Decree on the Regulation of Dramatic Cloak Swishing

Citizens may swish their cloaks dramatically only under the following conditions:

  • During official proclamations
  • When entering taverns uninvited
  • While making morally ambiguous declarations

Cloak swishing during soup service is strictly forbidden.
All violators shall be issued a warning swish by the Royal Tailor.


⚓ Creation of the Office of the Lighthouse Warden of Brinewatch

BY LETTERS PATENT and under seal of the Crown, the coastal post of Lighthouse Warden of Brinewatch is hereby constituted. The appointed Warden shall be responsible for the keeping of the great crystal beacon, the maintenance of foghorn protocols, and the ceremonial welcoming of storm spirits during high tide.

The Warden shall be entitled to:
• Lodging in the Tower
• Annual allotment of salted tea
• Right to fly the Storm Banner during sea tempests

Neglect of duty shall result in reassignment to inland lamplighting.

BY ORDER OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS KING EDMUND:

Regarding the Care and Custody of Orphaned Youths
The Realm shall provide shelter, instruction, and guardianship to any child orphaned or abandoned within its borders. The Ministry of the Populi shall coordinate with local stewards to ensure proper assignment to registered houses or educational institutions.
All such children are to be considered under Royal Protection. Let no harm come to them.


🧭 Appointment of Lady Miriel as Royal Cartographer

Year 148 of the Eyehasseen Reckoning

LET IT BE KNOWN that Lady Miriel of Northmarch is hereby appointed to the position of Royal Cartographer of the Realm, entrusted with the sacred duty of mapping not only the physical bounds of Eyehasseen, but also its symbolic, forgotten, and speculative territories.

This Letters Patent confers full authority to survey, name, and embellish maps for royal and public use. She shall carry the title Mistress of the Compass and Quill and be granted access to the Vault of Old Roads.

All citizens are commanded to give her due aid and hospitality in her duties.

🔖 Letters Patent for the Appointment of the Royal Bookmark-Keeper

Year 147 of the Eyehasseen Reckoning
LET IT BE KNOWN that Mistress Alabast of the Inner Shelf is hereby appointed Royal Bookmark-Keeper, with charge over all placeholders in royal volumes, scrolls, illuminated tomes, and the secret cookbook of King Edmund IV. She shall ensure that no page is dogeared, no margin smudged, and no poetic footnote lost to time.

She shall be granted:
• Access to the Archives Beneath
• Ink stipends and tassels as needed
• Honorary membership in the Guild of Scribes

Any folding of pages shall be punished by citation and recitation.

🏙 Chartering of the City of Northgrove

Year 146 of the Eyehasseen Reckoning

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CROWN’S WISHES, the thriving settlement of Northgrove is hereby granted the full status and privileges of a Chartered City of the Realm.

By this Letters Patent, Northgrove shall be entitled to:

  • Elect a Town Warden
  • Hold an annual Founding Fair
  • Maintain a civic banner bearing the Northgrove Fir
  • Collect local tolls under regulated charter

Its citizens shall be afforded full rights of representation, protection, and festivity under royal law.

All other towns aspiring to such chartered standing must present similar proofs of virtue, vigor, and baked goods.

Proclamation of the Festival of Slightly Misplaced Things

Henceforth, the third Moonday of Fogmonth shall be set aside as the Festival of Slightly Misplaced Things, wherein all citizens are encouraged to rejoice in those noble objects which have been misplaced—but never quite lost.

All gloves missing their pair, spoons found behind shelves, and library books returned too late to matter shall be celebrated in parades of mild confusion.
Those failing to celebrate shall be deemed grumpy and possibly hexed.
