📜 Trade Agreements Registry

Ministry of the Exterior | Division of International Commerce
“A pact sealed is a friendship extended, or at the very least, a nice scroll.”

📘 Overview

The Trade Agreements Registry (TAR) is the official archive of all commercial treaties, memoranda of exchange, letters of good shipping, and symbolic barter pacts between the Kingdom of Eyehasseen and its various economic partners—micronational and otherwise.

Maintained by the Division of International Commerce, the Registry ensures that every agreement, handshake, and ceremonial fruit basket is documented, stamped, and stored in the Vault of Accord, located just below the Ministry’s Teak Room of Negotiation.

Since its founding in 1955, the Registry has facilitated not only material exchange, but cultural goodwill, trade pageantry, and interpolite tariff calibration.

📦 What the Registry Records

  • Bilateral and multilateral trade pacts with friendly micronations and sovereign entities
  • Symbolic treaties of economic intent, usually including artwork, pastries, or mutual compliments
  • Import/export quotas and special exemptions based on season, sentiment, or livestock availability
  • Chronicle of Broken Pacts, where deals failed but the calligraphy was excellent

🗂️ Notable Treaties on File

🦢 The Swanwood Accord (1971)

Signed with the Forest Canton of Greylake. Permitted the exchange of timbercrafts for seven goats and a jug of water “that had seen the stars.”

🍞 The Bread-for-Ideas Compact (1982)

An ongoing, occasionally lopsided exchange with the Kingdom of Reon, trading bakery goods for philosophical essays and polite gossip.

🧭 The Seven-Point Parcel Protocol (1999)

A multilateral mail treaty among Eyehasseen, Talossan outposts, and three postal guilds. Introduced the first Cross-Parcel Emblem, still in use.

📯 The Hornsilver Trade Entente (2017)

Allows mutual recognition of metallic currencies of no particular value. Celebrated annually with the Coin Toss of Accord.

📄 How New Agreements Are Added

Any new trade agreement—formal, symbolic, or festival-based—must be submitted for registration with:

  1. A signed copy of the accord, stamped with wax, tea, or citrus oil
  2. A statement of mutual benefit, ideally fewer than 100 words
  3. A gift of minor value (scroll, ribbon, handcrafted mushroom)
  4. A small sketch or map of the trade route (real or ceremonial)

Upon acceptance, the agreement is entered into the Great Ledger of Exchange, a tome kept under soft lighting and guard by the Order of Ink-Watchers.
